After 12 years teaching in Tropical Northern Australia I am taking 6 months long service leave and moving to Thatcham, near Newbury & Reading in England for a working holiday.

I am going to be flying out of Darwin in the middle of a Tropical Wet Season Summer and arriving in London a week before Christmas in the dread of an English Winter. I half suspect the shock alone will kill me.

However should I survive there is a real possibility that I will get to have my first ever white christmas with my step-father's family up in York. I'll also get to watch England go through Winter, Spring and into summer before I head home so I should get a chance to see (and of course photograph) it's many changing faces.

I'll be taking the opportunity to visit mainland Europe as well while I'm there so hopefully the next 7 months should make up for being without my camera for the last 4.

Until I do leave I've been asked to teach photoshop to a group of 13 year old students for 2 hours every Friday. Those of you who've been here for a while will know I'm mainly a nature photographer, but you're likely to see some more manipualtions and even the odd original piece as I start practising what I want to teach the kids. Please bear with me if they are a but simplistic or cliched to start with.
